We aim to identify and understand the aspects of culture and cultural heritage that are important for community well-being and resilience and are affected by permafrost degradation, coastal land loss, and the associated infrastructure damage. This task will establish and maintain collaborative relationships for co-production of knowledge on these topics with Arctic indigenous communities and will develop end products that will be accessible to community members. This research also aims to quantitatively understand the impacts of disruptions to civil infrastructure resulting from permafrost degradation on the sociodemographic resilience of Arctic communities.

We will share more outcomes as the project progresses.
